Sponsorship program

- What is? -

You Will have the opportunity to change a child future, you can communicate with your child through letters or cards, but also you can meet him in person while serving in their community in a missionary trip.

Your support will allow each student to receive a new pair of shoes, as well as a nutritional supplement.  Scholarship assist in the hiring teachers, one of which teach Christian based morals and values.

Supporting a child is only $45 a month or $540 per year.

- Why? -

The public school system in Puerto Barrios, Guatemala has not provided graduates with an adequate education that prepares them to obtain employment.

Without adequate employment, they will not be able to provide for their family and community. We at Fundacion La Mision need your help to change this situation. Please consider financially supporting a child who with your help, will receive a proper, Christian-based education. That will in return help break the cycle of poverty and give hope for a better future.

Water Filters

Rural Guatemalan families need clean water like everyone else, but many times don’t have access. La Mision is changing that in villages throughout the country. La Mision delivers and installs water filter systems that ensure families are drinking water cleansed of bacteria and protozoas. That’s life-changing and impacts every part of their daily life.
• 65 percent of urban Guatemalan households have a piped water supply
• Less than half of rural households have a piped water supply
• La Mision water filter systems remove 99 percent of bacteria and protozoa
• The filter systems have a 3-year service life
• This work creates a 100 percent chance of building relationships sharing the gospel and offering specific prayers for the families

Construction projects

Sarita's Kitchen 2019

- Before -

Most of the schools have kitchens improvised with wooden walls and straw ceilings.

Our goal is for malnutrition to disappear completely. For the same reason we have thought of taking this project to different schools, with this project we will be able to benefit the children and their families, avoiding diseases caused by lack of hygiene and smoke when cooking.

Library 2022

The project to build a library at Sarita’s School was initiated to awaken children’s desire to study and read. Another purpose is to make appropriate use of the library space and to set up a computer room so that children can have an integrated education with new technology.

Jefferson is a good kid and he’s very special to us, so this new project about building a new house for him and his family to live in a safer and more comfortable place was born in our hearts.

Eco Friendly stoves

Ecofriendly stoves represent a revolutionary solution for communities that lack access to gas or electric stoves. Previously, many people were forced to rely on rudimentary cooking methods, such as bricks and firewood, inside their homes, creating not only high smoke emissions, but also serious respiratory health risks. This innovative eco-stove project not only addresses this problem, but also makes a crucial link between environmental sustainability and human health.

By introducing clean and efficient technologies, these stoves not only drastically reduce smoke and pollutant emissions, but also provide a safer and healthier environment for families, significantly improving their quality of life. This project not only transforms the way we cook, but also highlights the importance of empathy, collaboration and innovation in building a more sustainable and healthy future for all.
